The amendment to the exemption of work permits (Article 55 (c) and (ç) and the changes made will allow foreign companies to send their native employees to Turkey without any need to apply for a work permit, although this is only for a total of no more than 3 months in a year, but allows multiple entry
For Foreign companies operating in Turkey this will allow them to send non Turkish employees to work and assist in the setting up of business operations, management, training, the maintenance and installation and repairs of complex IT and Machinery, without the need to employ expensive consultants.
The changes are indeed of benefit to the energy, technology, construction, and automotive industries and should be an incentive for foreign companies to invest their existing employee’s skills and knowledge into their Turkish operations.
